Aim

Transport, Mobility & Society is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal committed to advancing research on the relationships between transport systems, mobility practices, and social structures. The journal aims to foster the development and dissemination of innovative methodologies, policies, and technologies that address contemporary and future challenges in urban and rural mobility, sustainability, accessibility, and equity. It serves as a platform for researchers, planners, and policymakers to exchange transformative ideas that integrate infrastructure design, transport governance, behavioral insights, and inclusive urban development, with a focus on social impact and interdisciplinary relevance.

Scope

Transport, Mobility & Society publishes original research articles, critical reviews, case studies, and perspective pieces that examine both theoretical and practical dimensions of transport and mobility from social, technical, and environmental viewpoints. The journal welcomes contributions that foster innovation in conceptual approaches, data-driven analysis, and real-world applications across a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Urban Mobility and Accessibility: Policies, systems, and tools to enhance inclusive and sustainable access to mobility in cities and metropolitan areas.

  • Social Equity and Transport Justice: Research on inequalities in transport access and mobility opportunities among different demographic and socioeconomic groups.

  • Active and Sustainable Transport: Innovations in pedestrian, cycling, and shared mobility infrastructure, as well as environmental impacts of transport systems.

Visibility and Open Access:
The journal follows an open access model, which maximizes the visibility of published articles, which is enhanced given the indexing in Scopus and CAB Asbtracts.

Frequency of publication:
The journal follows a continuous publication model, where articles after acceptance are typeset and published in a single volume per year. Therefore, the call for submissions is permanently open.

Speed of publication:
The journal manages the following times of the editorial process: 5 days for the first response from the section editor or pass to peer review; 30 to 45 days responses from the editor on the observations of peer reviewers; 20 to 25 days in layout, metadata uploading and publication on the journal's site.
The editorial team combines rigorous peer review with the efficient timing of the editorial process, which is done exclusively in electronic format.

Promotion and dissemination strategy:
The journal develops a strategy to promote and position published articles on social networks and web platforms, which contributes to increase exposure and access to the articles.
